The Kettle Valley Rally is a summer driving adventure, round 3 of the 2017 BC TSD Rally Championship and Round 5 in the IRSA Saturday Night Series. This event is sanctioned by the Canadian Association of Rallysport (CARS) and by Rally Pacific Motorsports (RPM). The rally follows the current Rally Pacific Motorsports Association TSD Rally Regulations, which are posted on http://rallybc.com, and the CARS General Competition Rules. Note: The BC TSD Rally Regulations have been revised for 2017. The rally runs on straight-forward instructions. In addition to the route instructions, maps will be provided. The rally will be 440km long (the series portion will join in for the last 140km) entirely within the province of BC, and will start with an odometer check section. Roads will be about 34% pavement, 66% gravel. Instructions, measurements and calculations are based on the km figures.
Required equipment: 1 self-supporting, reflective warning triangle (30cm per side), first aid kit (minimum contents defined by the BC rally regulations), 5BC fire extinguisher, open cars require a roll bar. Additional lights on the front should meet legal requirements as to type and mounting height; and must be wired to the high beam lights such that the additional lights turn off when switching to low beam. Fog lights may be wired independently.
Recommended equipment: map light, driving lights, warm clothing, and tow rope. Some helpful hints: Make sure not to mount anything (e.g. rally odometers) in front of an air-bag cover. There will be 1 late afternoon gas stop, from the gas stop to the end of the rally is 270 km, should any teams require additional gas there will be 1 remote fuel station set up in the late evening. Any teams wanting to have gas available at the remote fuel stop, please bring an empty jerry can with you and advise Tiffany MacDonald at registration. Jerry cans are to be filled at the gas stop and handed to Tiffany MacDonald to be taken to the remote fuel stop. The sweep truck will have 4 wheel drive and a winch, but may not always be able to extract wayward cars from the BC scenery. Drivers are asked always to drive with their headlights on and to be particularly courteous to traffic not connected with the rally. Due to the higher altitude of some of the roads good All Season Mud and Snow Tires are highly recommended..
